Our woven throws are crafted using a unique tapestry weaving technique commonly employed in residential furniture fabrics. This method utilizes standard warp colors (red, blue, green, and gold) and neutral weft threads (black and white) to create intricate patterns without the need to change yarns.

Unlike tightly woven furniture fabrics, these throws are woven loosely, resulting in a soft and drapey texture perfect for cozying up. This approach allows the mill to produce a single throw quickly—using special software to translate digital patterns into a “digital punchcard” for the loom. Each design is woven on demand and shipped within days, combining efficiency with artistry.

Please note that these throws are not the same quality as our Japanese-made designs, which feature finer yarns and tighter weaves. The North Carolina mill’s technique prioritizes flexibility and speed, so the throws may arrive with natural wrinkles and a coarser texture. 

These cozy throw-sized woven blankets are woven out of 100% cotton yarn with a colorful edge fringe that extends the design.
