Jhane's Take on the Zip Paper Lunch Bag

This is one of my favorite items in the shop.

It’s made from 100% paper, which immediately appealed to me. It has a rugged zip closure and a 100% cotton carrying strap, and it feels much more substantial than you’d expect at first glance.

Only the top section is printed, and it’s surprisingly rough to the touch — not soft or precious — though the print itself looks very good. The sides and bottom are pressed paper, which might sound fragile, but in practice it isn’t. I’m actually wearing my paper shoes from Wildling as I write this — they’re over a year old and show no wear — so I’ve stopped assuming paper automatically means delicate.

I use this bag in a very specific way: I take it to restaurants with a metal container inside, so I can bring home leftovers without bothering the kitchen or adding more plastic to the world. It’s become a habit I really like.

I also use these as storage boxes in my sewing room for supplies. They’re structured enough to hold their shape, easy to move around, and they look good sitting out.

It’s less a lunch bag than a small, useful paper box that happens to zip closed. The size is 10” × 7” × 4”, which turns out to be just right for a lot of everyday needs.

This is one of those products where the material choice, the function, and how I actually live all line up — and when that happens, I pay attention.
