Jhane's Take on the Gift Wrap

This was another printed paper category I wanted to try because I knew the printing would be pristine — and it is. The designs come through exactly as intended, with no surprises.

I also took the patterns from some of my favorite digitally printed shirts from years ago, which made this especially satisfying. Seeing those designs again, translated onto paper, felt like a quiet return to an earlier chapter of my work.

I don’t usually use gift wrap myself, mostly for environmental reasons. What made this acceptable to me is that the paper is recyclable. There are no dyes or metallics that interfere with recycling, and it’s printed with GreenGuard UL–certified inks.

It comes in two finishes — matte and satin. I strongly prefer the matte. It feels quieter and more aligned with how I like these patterns to sit on a surface.

That said, I’ve run into a very real, very personal problem: I don’t want to disturb the roll.

I keep telling myself I’ll use it — I even told myself I would use it this past holiday — and I didn’t. It sits there looking too good, perfectly rolled, making me hesitate every time.

Next year. Definitely next year.

So yes, this is beautiful, well-printed, and environmentally responsible gift wrap. And for me, it’s also a way of revisiting past work in a form that feels both familiar and new — even if I’m still working up the nerve to actually use it.
