Jhane's Take on the Collars

(and why they’re coming down too)

The collars are made by the same company, using the same materials and hardware as the leashes. Which means that once the issues with the leashes became clear, the decision here was already made.

Even though I haven’t lived with the collars as long, they share the same printed surface and metal components — and I’m not comfortable waiting for the same wear to show up before acting. If the print rubs off and the hardware finish degrades on the leash, it’s only a matter of time before the same thing happens on the collar.

That’s not a risk I’m willing to pass along.

So the collars are coming down as well.

This isn’t about aesthetics or preference — it’s about durability in real use, especially for something worn every day by an animal. If I wouldn’t keep it on my own dog, it doesn’t belong here.

Sometimes one honest inspection answers two questions.
